Challenge:
Monitor the temperature in the store’s refrigeration units and generate reports and alerts when pre-defined temperature thresholds are exceeded.
Monitor potential water leakages in the facility area.
Monitor the water level in water storage tanks.
Measure the electricity consumption of ice production machinery
Solution Provided
Deployment of an indoor LoRaWAN network covering all the areas of the facility. The LoRaWAN network is used to support the communication with sensors installed in the facility. The system collects temperature measurements every 10 minutes and checks if the measured temperature is within the pre-defined temperature thresholds. If not an alert is generated and a notification is send to the system users through push notification, SMS and email. Moreover, the measurements are stored on the cloud platform allowing the users to access historical data that could be used for reports and/or hygiene services inspections.
We have also deployed LoRaWAN zone leakage detection sensors which detect the presence of water. If any water leakage is detected the systems notifies the users and at the same time a LoRaWAN controllers switches on 2 water pumps to remove the water. Another sensors, informs the system when all the water is removed to switch off the water pumps.
Finally Ultrasonic Distance Measuring Sensors have been installed within water storage tanks monitoring the water level and displaying the level of water and smart plugs have been connected on the ice production machinery measuring their electricity consumption and allowing the customer to remotely switch them ON and OFF.
