Smart Sensors, Seamless Collection
Revolutionizing First-Mile Postal Efficiency

  • Optimizes First-Mile Collection

  • Mail Collection Route Optimization

  • LoRaWAN Communication

  • Reduces Costs and Carbon Footprint

What is OpteBOX?

The OPTeBOX system aims to address the costly ‘first mile’ problem of mail and parcel collection faced by postal and courier operators by introducing advanced letter detection and route optimization mechanisms utilizing state-of-the-art sensors and AI algorithms.
It encompasses the logistical hurdles for collecting the correspondence in an efficient manner, reduce first-mile costs, and mitigate environmental impact by decreasing the CO2 footprint.
OPTeBOX integrates energy and power efficient IoT technology to track real-time occupancy of mailboxes. It utilizes optical sensors to detect dropped letters in pillar boxes and employs wireless communication (LoRaWAN) to notify users about the occupancy of street boxes. This approach offers a comprehensive overview of the pillar box status, enabling postmen to be informed about the collection points they need to visit in order to collect the correspondence.
